There's a version of the Andhra Pradesh coast that most travel itineraries skip entirely — not because it lacks anything, but because it doesn't announce itself. Kothawadarevu and the stretch around it, including Vodarevu Beach and Suryalanka Beach further along, belong to this quieter version of the coastline. Golden Sands sits right in the middle of it.
Go early, before the heat sets in, and Vodarevu Beach feels almost private. It isn't a beach built for spectacle — no boardwalk, no rows of vendors — just sand, tide, and the kind of quiet that makes a morning walk feel like it's doing something for you. Guests who come back year after year often mention this beach specifically, usually with some version of the same sentence: it's nothing special, and that's exactly why it works.
Suryalanka Beach asks for more of your day, and rewards you for giving it. It's the better-known destination along this stretch, worth treating as an actual outing rather than a quick stop — pack for the day, go with time to spare, and let the afternoon run long. The resort team can point you toward the current best route when you're ready to go.
Chirala is known for its handloom weaving, and the local market reflects that — less a tourist attraction than a working town going about its business. It's worth an hour or two if you want a sense of the area beyond its beaches, with none of the performance that "cultural stops" sometimes carry elsewhere.
As the district headquarters, Bapatla town is more a practical stop than a destination in itself — somewhere to break up a longer day, pick up anything you've forgotten, or simply get a sense of the region's scale beyond the resort gates.
"This isn't a coastline that performs for visitors. It simply continues, the way it always has, and lets you join in for a while."Golden Sands Beach Resorts
None of this is the kind of coast that fills a highlight reel. It's the kind that stays with you quietly, the way Golden Sands itself does — which is, in the end, exactly why we chose to build here.
